What do you think of a short Friday episode each week?

This episode is different, something new that I am going to be trying out for the next month. I would love to hear your thoughts and reactions to it. Think of this as an audio newsletter, update, monologue, and an opportunity for me to talk a little bit more directly with my audience.
As I interview people, they share amazing insights and they get me thinking about my service and the commonalities or differences we experience as volunteers. Rather than talk over my guests or go on long asides, I want the interview to focus on the individual who is being interviewed. These Friday episodes will be a chance for me to dig deeper into those kinds of topics.
Additionally, I’ve been asked a lot of general questions about Peace Corps service: writing, blogging, publishing your own book, podcasting, or even about applying to the Peace Corps or packing for two years of service. I can speak to all of those and I’ve gone back-and-forth about whether they should be in writing or a podcast episode. So far, I think I’m going to do a mix of both writing long-form pieces for the blog and also creating little episodes like this to dig into a topic.
Speaking of written content, I would love to start featuring more varied types of content on My Peace Corps Story. I have an Instagram that features other people’s photos but I would also encourage you to pitch me ideas for stories or articles. If you’re reading this and want to write something, let me know. I’d love to hear your ideas, work with you, and figure out how I can help you tell your story. Not everybody wants to come on a podcast and be interviewed, but maybe you’re an aspiring writer or already a very successful blogger looking to reach more people. I want to help you do that and figure out different ways where I can collaborate with people in the Peace Corps community.
I have had a long list of a blog and article ideas that started well before the podcast. Yet, if you look on the website you’ll see none of them. Almost a year into the idea of the show, I’ve written nothing. I think I was a little exhausted after publishing my book, but I want to return to that medium.
I’ve got ideas upon ideas for more content! Maybe they’re good and maybe their bad. The only way I’ll know is by putting them out there and seeing what you all think.
If you liked, loved, or hated this episode, let me know. If you have ideas for future content or want to create something for My Peace Corps Story, let me know. Here’s the best way to do that: Contact Form. I look forward to hearing from you.

Tyler, I love this podcast. I listen to it everyday Tuesday at work. I would love to listen to another episode on Fridays. I really like the idea of commenting on Peace Corps current events/ Peace Corps in the news.

Sydney, thank you for your support and feedback! I’ll try to mix in more current events and news stories for you. I don’t know if there will be enough consistent news to do an episode like that each Friday, but we’ll see. Wish you the very best!
